Infinity Lithium expands long-term tenure for Spanish play

Infinity Lithium has secured a new 35-year lease on land that now expands the footprint of its San José project in Spain, following a new deal struck by its wholly-owned subsidiary, Extremadura New Energies. The company says its second major acquisition of rights and access to land that will be home to its processing facility is a milestone that provides long-term leasehold over 11 hectares.

Infinity closes in on Spanish lithium mining rights

Infinity Lithium has continued its chase for the rights to mine lithium and establish a conversion facility at its San José project in Spain by formally lodging an application with the local government. The project, with a mineral resource of 111.3 million tonnes grading 0.61 per cent lithium oxide and 206 parts-per-million tin, is in Extremadura – a remote mountainous region that borders Portugal.

Infinity gets $31m funding boost for Spanish lithium play

The Spanish Government has boosted Infinity Lithium's coffers with a cash-ringing endorsement of $31 million for its 75 per cent-owned San José lithium project as the limelight intensifies on the battery metal's supply chain. The grant funding was awarded to company's wholly-owned Spanish subsidiary, Extremadura New Energies, which plans to develop an underground mine at the deposit.

Infinity Lithium predicts US$16.7b EBITDA in Spain

Infinity Lithium has splashed out a stunning EBITDA of US$16.7 billion (AU$26 billion) for its San José project in Spain in an updated scoping study that outlines a 26-year mine life and annual production of 33,000 tonnes of lithium hydroxide. The company's new study shows a post-tax net present value of US$2.87 billion (AU$4.47 billion) and an internal rate of return of 21.3 per cent.

Spanish court confirms Infinity Lithium path for new mining licence

Infinity Lithium Corporation will continue moving ahead with plans to submit a direct mining licence application for its San José lithium project in Spain after a decision from the Contentious Administrative Court in Cáceres confirmed that is the most suitable path forward. Following the termination of the its Investigation Permit Valdeflorez the company says it will now proceed with an alternative process to a mining licence and one in which it already has the backing of the regional government.

Infinity Lithium extends supply deal with LG

Infinity Lithium has extended a Memorandum of Understanding with battery manufacturer LG Energy Solutions for the supply of lithium hydroxide from its planned San Jose project in Spain. The expansion follows a 2021 deal that permits LG the first rights to 10,000 tonnes of product per year and grants the parties additional time to hammer out a long-term offtake agreement. The deal will mature on 2 December 2023.
