In 2019 Business News launched a new event series – Politics & Business - designed to provide a platform for government to address and inform business leaders and the broader business community on policies and key issues that affect our state.

The events are usually held as a breakfast and as a 15 minute keynote address followed by a 30 minute moderated in-conversation, including attendee questions using an audience interactive platform.

Western Australia’s 31st Premier Roger Cook took the helm of the nation’s most economically strong State at a delicate time, as global and national affairs buffet the post-pandemic outlook.

Serving as the Health Minister during the COVID-19 crisis, his current portfolios of State and Industry Development, Jobs and Trade, Public Sector Management, and Federal-State Relations mean the Premier is tasked with guiding the State as we confront issues that have a big bearing on WA’s prosperity: energy transition, housing supply, dealing with inflation, and managing our relationship with China.

Six months into his leadership, the Premier will be outlining his vision for the State and the opportunities for business as WA consolidates its position as the nation’s trading powerhouse.
