IRINA Cattalini is a home-grown advocate for local issues in her role as CEO of the Western Australian Council of Social Service (WACOSS), the peak organisation for the community services sector statewide. The council represents the interests of socially disadvantaged Western Australians and provides services that support the work of community organisations. It delivers training for non-profit organisations, government departments, arts, culture and sports groups and social enterprises. Ms Cattalini has spent many years volunteering in the community and is currently vice-president of the Australian Conservation Foundation and member of the Civil Society Advisory Council of the Commonwealth Foundation in London. She has been invited by the US Embassy to be part of a leadership visitor program later this year. Despite many offers to work interstate, Ms Cattalini has chosen to remain in WA because of her passion to continue to grow, learn and create an impact in her home state. Ms Cattalini received the 40under40 UWA Strategic Alliance Award.
