Non-Executive Chair / Ability Centre
Most Notable Role
JUSTIN Scanlan came to PricewaterhouseCoopers in Western Australia after working with PwC in Ireland, with the mandate to grow the consulting side of the business rapidly.
PwC now has an established management strategy, operational effectiveness and technology consulting practice as well as the largest actuarial practice in Australia operating out of its Perth office.
Responsible for 85 staff, Mr Scanlan also established PwC’s technology consulting business in WA and made partner at 35, one of the youngest partners in Australia.
He credits his appetite to take calculated risks, fail fast, learn quickly and move on as factors in his success, and aims to be a catalyst for change.
A self-confessed sports fanatic, Mr Scanlan played rugby in Ireland at a senior level for 20 years. He said taking skills from the field to the office allowed him to not only build leadership skills, but to understand his own strengths and weaknesses.
Mr Scanlan coaches junior ALF and cricket teams and is a board member for the Centre for Cerebral Palsy WA. He also supports a number of not-for-profit organisations such as Putt for Dough and Perth to Surf, winning the lord mayor’s prize last year for financial contribution and support.
