Auroch Minerals has initiated a geophysical survey program across its Arden base metals project, 360km north of Adelaide in S.A. Recent surface sampling identified highly anomalous zinc, copper, lead and cobalt mineralisation across three separate prospects. Interpretation of the survey data acquired will be used in conjunction with field mapping and geochemical sampling to identify drilling targets.

Auroch Minerals has announced that it has generated 17 interesting looking base metal and gold exploration targets by reinterpreting old geophysics data at its Bonaventura project on Kangaroo Island, southwest of Adelaide. Three priority, high grade zinc targets will undergo surface geophysics ahead of the drilling programs with the new targets broadly coinciding with recent high-grade surface sampling.

New geophysical work by Auroch Minerals has identified potential base metal horizons striking over tens of kms at its new Arden project in South Australia. The encouraging results have prompted Auroch to fly a high resolution aeromagnetic survey to sharpen target definition ahead of a maiden drill program in the September quarter. Samples taken from old workings went 7% zinc and 10% copper.

Auroch Minerals has opened up a new exploration front, targeting high-grade zinc, lead and maybe even a hint of cobalt in the metals-rich Adelaide Geosyncline after finalising the acquisition of two very interesting looking projects in South Australia. Previous exploration by the likes of Rio Tinto has produced drill hits of up to 26.9% zinc, however the two new projects are yet to be properly drill tested.

The Arden project near Quorn in the Flinders Ranges and the Bonaventura Zinc project on Kangaroo Island have historical drill hits of up to 26.9% zinc and 2.5% cobalt.

Perth oil and gas explorer Calima Energy pulled off a seriously successful back-door listing last week amid a red hot market for its new core asset in Canada's revered “Montney” oil and gas basin. The stock ran from a theoretical relisting price of 3.3c to a high of 5.9c last week before settling back to 5.3c at weeks end. Their ground in Canada is considered to be highly prospective for oil and gas.

A guaranteed $2.25 million equity injection has secured Azonto Petroleum's rebirth as Calima Energy with a stake in one of the hottest new shale plays in North America. The capital raising was a key part of a series of deals announced last month that will launch the company as a player in Canada's Montney Formation, a liquids-rich oil and gas basin of staggering proportions.

Auroch Minerals now have $8.3m in liquid assets after the UK-based buyer of their Manica gold project in Mozambique came up with more cash and shares as part of last month's settlement agreement. Auroch will soon be owed only $US1.2m from last year's $US12m sale and will have enough financial horsepower to fund an exciting Lithium exploration program in Namibia.

Auroch Minerals have played hardball with AIM listed Xtract Resources over an unpaid debt owing to Auroch for the sale of the Manica Gold Project in Mozambique in March last year. Under the terms of the original AUD$12m sale, Xtract were able to defer USD$2.5m until three months after the sale but only managed to pay down about USD$850,000 of the final USD$2.5m
