This week's big moves include Cate Cassarchis, Jacqueline McGowan-Jones, Simon Corrigan, Richard Wilson, Justin Davies, Hamish Beck, and Flynn Cowan.

Appointments, November 19, 2021

Cate Cassarchis has been appointed chief executive of the RPH Research Foundation. Ms Cassarchis was chief executive of the Perth Blood Institute and had spent 11 years as state archivist and executive director state records at the State Records Office of Western Australia. She was also a director of the Foundation for the WA Museum.

Jacqueline McGowan-Jones has been appointed Commissioner for Children and Young People for a five-year term commencing on January 4, 2022. Ms McGowan-Jones is the first Aboriginal woman appointed to the role. She takes over from commissioner Colin Pettit. Ms McGowan-Jones has been executive director of the Office of Aboriginal Education for seven years.

Former Cannings Purple director Simon Corrigan has founded a new public relations agency, Corporate Affairs Australia. Mr Corrigan has previously worked at Atlas Iron, Citic Pacific and as head of community and Indigenous Affairs (Australia) at BHP. He is chair of disability support organisation Kalparrin.

Richard Wilson has been promoted to principal at Boston Consulting Group.

Justin Davies has taken up the role of commercial director at Clean Plant. Mr Davies has been a director of GolfWA since March 2015.

Hamish Beck has been appointed chair of the Rottnest Island Authority Board for a three-year term, replacing John Langoulant. Mr Beck was appointed deputy chairperson of the board in 2016. He is currently chair of the Swan River Trust, and serves on the boards of the Central Perth Planning Committee, the Western Australian Maritime Museum Advisory Committee, and the Cockburn Sound Management Council.

Flynn Cowan has joined GMA Garnet as general manager international sales and marketing. Mr Cowan worked for 14 years with adhesive tape manufacturer Tesa, including as regional market manager Asia Pacific.
