Michael Sukkar

Michael Sukkar is the Federal Member for Deakin. He was elected to the Australian House of Representatives at the 2013 federal election and is the ninth person to hold the seat of Deakin since its creation in 1937. Mr Sukkar has lived, worked and been a part of the Deakin electorate all his life. He complete a Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Commerce at Deakin University in Burwood. He also completed a Master of Laws at the University of Melbourne. Prior to entering the Parliament, Mr Sukkar spent seven years as a lawyer with Ashurst Australia (then known as Blake Dawson Waldron). Prior to this, he was senior consultant at PricewaterhouseCoopers, specialising in taxation. In 2017, he was appointed Assistant Minister to the Treasurer.
