Over 46 million people are victims of modern slavery. 4300 of them are in Australia; innumerable numbers remain hidden amidst the dispersed global supply chains of many of our companies.

The first draft of the Commonwealth Slavery Bill was read in Parliament on 28 June 2018. It will require all Australian corporates, with over $100 million in revenue, to report on modern slavery in their supply chains. On 21st July 2018, the NSW Parliament passed the Modern Slavery Act 2018. Even as the federal bill goes through the final stages and the NSW legislation comes into play, Australian companies must expand their understanding of modern slavery and how the new legislations affect them.

Join us for an expert-led briefing on how to prepare your organisation for the Modern Slavery Act 2018 and the passing of the Commonwealth Slavery Bill. Speakers will discuss how best to develop and deliver the annual slavery statements, effective due diligence along supply chains and how best to monitor, manage and respond to modern slavery. They examine how boards can put in place effective strategy to monitor and maintain oversight on modern slavery.
