Amcham meet the Minister Executive Luncheon with Dean Nalder

AmCham's Meet the Minister Series provides senior business executives and officers of the Chamber the privilege and benefit of hearing an informal briefing by the Minister on important matters of state.

The Hon. Dean Nalder MLA is the Minister for Agriculture and Food; Transport. Minister Nalder will share his views on Value Capture (financing that recovers some or all of the value that public infrastructure generates for private landowners) as well as his plans for the Agriculture and Food portfolio.

Minister Nalder joined the front bench one year after winning the seat of Alfred Cove in March 2013.

Dean brings to the Barnett Government a wealth of private sector experience, having spent 18 years with the ANZ bank where he was a senior executive, and was later the State Commercial Manager for Australia Post for two years before being elected.

Dean is a Member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and a Fellow of the Financial Services Institute of Australasia.

He maintained his interest and passion in farming until as recent as 2008 when he operated his own farm in regional WA (juggling his private sector employment and his personal interest in farming) which has given him first-hand insight into the challenges facing the State's agriculture industry.

A passion for politics runs in Dean's family. His grandfather was a member of the Legislative Assembly of Western Australia for 27 years, Deputy Premier in the Brand Government, and knighted in 1974 following his retirement from parliament. Dean's father was elected in 1986 for the National Party of Western Australia.
