Engineers Australia is hosting this event to engage the industry in regards to employing undergraduate and graduate engineers.

An important foundation in the development of our student engineers is the exposure to practical, real world engineering practice during their engineering degree. There is a shortage of opportunities for Western Australia’s engineering undergraduates to obtain such experience. Industry plays a critical role in developing engineering students’ skills and education. By providing more opportunities for student engineers, our graduating workforce will be more work-ready, productive, independent, and adaptable.

To build on Engineers Australia’s Forum for Our Future Engineers held in 2017, we invite industry, government and academia to join us as we launch a guideline to assist employers to provide student practicum experience to our engineering undergraduates. After a brief presentation, we will host a panel session with employers of students and university representatives. The session will be moderated by Ann Brinkamp who looks after Key Account Strategy, Business Development & Graduate Program at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of WA.

Please note timings for this event are 5pm for 5.30pm start to 6.45pm followed by refreshments and networking.
