Horizon Power has significant expertise and experience in managing traditional remote microgrids; a business model that is distinct from prevailing grid-based utility business models operating within Australia. Through a series of foundation projects that are already well advanced, Horizon Power is developing a smart Microgrid Operating Platform that represents a comprehensive solution to the successful delivery of energy into remote locations. To accentuate Horizon Power's significant capacity development, it is also prosecuting the case for a program of strategic investments that collectively refine Horizon Power's microgrid focus and begin to build a brand to support its microgrid positioning.

Frank Tudor is currently Managing Director of Horizon Power, a vertically integrated regional energy provider to the natural resource rich regional part of WA. Frank Tudor has held various executive management roles over the last 25 years in the European, Asian and Australian oil, gas and power industries with BP, Woodside and most recently Horizon Power. Frank is currently a member of the ANU China on the World Advisory Board, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry General Council, Board member of the Electricity Networks Association, and Chair of the Electricity Networks Association Asset Management Committee. Frank has also been a part-time lecturer in oil and gas economics, and oil and gas legal frameworks at the University of Western Australia for over 10 years. He served as the Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry’s (CCI) Energy and Resources Forum and is a Board member of the Federal Government’s Australia China Council. Frank holds first class degrees in engineering, economics and business administration from Curtin University (WA), London School of Economics (UK) and AGSM (University of NSW). Frank also completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School in September and October 2008.
