Tetai cleans up at awards
QUANTUM Contract Services’ Daniel Tetai has been named Western Australia’s top cleaner after clinching the Cleaner of the Year Award from the Building Service Contractors Association of Australia.
The award goes to the individual who achieves the highest overall score in the Cleaning Task Heptathlon.
Each nominee is required to demonstrate their skills to the judges in the areas of vacuuming and equipment care, detailing, glass cleaning, wet area cleaning, floor polishing, high cleaning and stripping and sealing.
In the training area of the awards Airlite Cleaning’s Julie Caldwell and Gae Murphy won the Excellence in Training Certificate II and IV awards respectively. Leeder Cleaning Service’s Leo O’Hehir won the Excellence in Training Certificate III prize.
Airlite Cleaning also scored wins in the Excellence in the field of Office Presentation, Excellence in the field of Hard Floor Maintenance, Excellence in the field of Industrial Operations. Those awards went to Sandra Trigwell, Paul Dunmore and Kim Robinson (joint winners) and Malcolm Wilson.
The company also won the BSCAA’s Best Practice Trophy.
The Delron Group’s Judith Cox won the Excellence in the maintenance of Educational Facilities Award.
Spotless’ Lesley Pickup and The Delron Group’s Shaila Rukata were named joint winners of the Excellence in the field of Hospitality Maintenance.
Arix Australia’s Elaine Hope and OCS Pty Ltd’s Kay Mudra were joint winners of the Excellence in the field of Mall Patrol Operations.
Leeder Cleaning Services was named winner of the Excellence in Training – Small Employer category and Cleandustrial Services won the Excellence in Training – Large Employer award.
The Industry Service Award was shared by Statewide Cleaning Supplies and Tri Training Services.
Kingston Carpet Cleaning Service’s Gregory King was recognised for Excellence in Carpet Cleaning.
