Professor Robert Harvey, pro vice-chancellor (equity and indigenous) and executive dean of the Faculty of Business and Law at Edith Cowan University, came to ECU in 2003 after a long and distinguished career in public sector management.

He came from the Department of Justice, where in the position of executive director, community and juvenile justice, he oversaw the introduction of the state’s first privately operated prison and led significant reform in an important part of the state’s criminal justice system. 

He previously performed a number of key roles in the Department of Contract and Management Services and held senior positions in the then Water Authority of Western Australia. 

Professor Harvey has extensive experience in strategic reform and change management and places particular emphasis on the importance of organisational vision and values.
