Accomplishments

Andrew Sharp started Arbor Vitae from scratch. The business began as a design consultancy offering landscape architecture and urban design to the development industry.

The company earned a strong reputation and received several awards from the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects. This profile resulted in the merger with design practice Hassell.

Mr Sharp successfully coordinated multi-faced projects through his direct involvement with major projects and studies, including the Peninsula developments for Mirvac, and the Bunbury Back Beach erosion project for the City of Bunbury.

Personnal community

Mr Sharp holds a bachelor of landscape architecture from University of Canberra.

He has received the 2006 AILA merit award in landscape architecture, the 2006 national RAIA Colorbond Steel award, and the 2006 landscape, design and irrigation (WA) environment award for his work on the Bunbury Back Beach.

His community involvement has been directed to his home town of Pemberton, where he assisted the Progress Association in various capacities.

Throughout his career, Mr Sharp has provided professional advice to the local primary school and council, to tertiary institutions, and to his professional institute, the AILA.
