Judge: Heather Merritt - UWA Business School

Title: Marketing manager

Heather Merritt has spent more than two decades in the marketing and communications industry, with senior positions in the international corporate world in Canada, Indonesia and Australia.  Ms Merritt is now marketing manager of the University of Western Australia’s Business School.

Among her significant career accomplishments are media management for the Sydney 2000 Olympic torch relay, and working on crisis and reputation management campaigns for multi-national global brands such as Nike and Emirates.

Her foremos t career achievement was the establishment of the Australasian operations of a petroleum software company, which was subsequently acquired by Schlumberger Oilfield Services.

While living in Jakarta, Ms Merritt started an MBA with the UWA Business School and completed it upon her return to Perth. She is also working towards a doctor of business administration.
