Jens Nielsen joined Luerssen Group in January 2019 and was appointed chief executive of Luerssen Australia and project director for SEA1180. Mr Nielsen holds a Master of Science for Aerospace and Space Technology from the Technical University of Munich in Germany. He started his career as a flight test systems engineer at Dornier. He then worked for 15 years in aerospace industry for BMW Rolls-Royce, Fairchild Dornier and Diehl-Avionik Systems before joining Airbus Defence and Space in 2005 where he was the chief engineer for military systems on the A400M Program before becoming senior vice president for the integrated systems business and senior vice president for unmanned aerial systems. Prior to joining Luerssen, Mr Nielsen was chief operating officer and vice president of operations for Thales in Germany.
