Gary Roberts AM is the managing director of Perth radio station Nova 93.7. His radio career spans 4 decades, and he spent 9 years on air with stations in Adelaide, Sydney and Perth before moving into Programming. He launched 96fm in 1980 and was general manager for 8 years, taking the station to a dominant number 1 position. Mr Roberts was managing director of Mix 94.5 and 92.9 for 10 years and formed radio’s first duopoly which he took to a dominant number 1 and 2 position. In 2002, he launched Nova 93.7 which now has more listeners than any other Perth radio station. Mr Roberts is particularly proud that the Fogarty Foundation, of which he was a trustee, founded CoderDojo WA and of the program's significant impact in such a short period of time. In 2020, Mr Roberts was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant services to the broadcast media, particularly to radio.
