A landmark deal to place control of a $1.1 billion Pilbara desalination plant in the hands of Yindjibarndi traditional owners has been set in motion.
Yindjibarndi Water confirmed on Monday it and Affinity Capital Group had entered discussions with Dampier Desalination Plant developers Rio Tinto and the WA Government to purchase the asset which, once completed, will supply water to Rio Tinto’s port operations and the City of Karratha.
