Jim McDowell has resigned as non-executive director of Austal. Mr McDowell has accepted an appointment to become chief executive of the Premier and Cabinet in South Australia.
James Todd has been appointed non-executive director of Coventry Group. Mr Todd is an experienced company director, corporate adviser and investor.
Peter Stickland has been appointed non-executive director of Entek Energy. Mr Stickland has over 25 years of global experience in oil and gas exploration. Nerida Schmidt has resigned as non-executive director but remains the company secretary of Entek.
Elizabeth Maynard has joined Fleetwood Corporation as general counsel and joint company secretary. Ms Maynard is an experienced lawyer and spent several years in private practice as a corporate/M&A lawyer with a top-tier Australian law firm, advising clients in a variety of sectors on domestic and cross-border transactional and commercial matters.
Alexander Molyneux has become the chief executive and managing director of Galena Mining. His appointment is a key element of the company’s strategy and its evolution towards becoming a major base metals producer. Ed Turner will transition from his role as chief executive to become Galena’s general manager of geology and exploration.
Michael Minosora has been appointed executive chair of Golden Deeps. Mr Minosora has many years of experience in the corporate and resource sectors and a wealth of experience in the vanadium industry. His appointment comes as Golden Deeps aims to bring the Abenab/Christiana Vanadium Project into production as a low capital cost, low operating cost, vanadium producer.
MingMing Zhang, current non-executive director of Kresta Holdings, will also take over the role of company secretary from XiaoWei Jiang.
Metals X has made several changes to the board and executive team to strengthen its mining and geological expertise, and to bolster the ramp-up of Nifty and the company’s exploration and project development activities. Damien Marantelli has been appointed non-executive director, Campbell Baird as executive general manager of mining & technical, Simon Rigby as executive general manager of geology & business development, and Russell Cole as general manager of Nifty Copper Operations. Steve Robinson has stepped down from the board as executive director but remains with the company as executive general manager of projects and planning.
Peter Hepburn-Brown has passed away due to ill health. Mr Hepburn-Brown was non-executive director of Medusa Mining, Calidus Resources and Focus Minerals. He was also project manager of Vango Mining.
Charlie Sartain and Marcelo Bastos have been appointed non-executive directors of Oz Minerals. Both Mr Sartain and Mr Bastos have extensive international mining experience and have led copper divisions for global resources companies, including companies in Brazil where OZ Minerals is in the final stages of acquiring a suite of assets through the takeover of Avanco Resources.
Peter Webse has resigned as joint company secretary of Parazero, a drone safety solutions company. Mr Stephen Buckley will become the sole company secretary.
Caroline Keats is the new executive general manager of legal and commercial at Tiger Resources. Ms Keats has more than 20 years of corporate and commercial experience, and had worked in the mining industry within Australia and in foreign jurisdictions, and in various capacities including as in-house corporate counsel and as external counsel while at top-tier national and boutique mining law firms.
Bruce Akhurst and Matthew Hanning have been appointed non-executive directors of Vocus Group. Mr Akhurst sits on the boards of several leading Australian companies and was a former chair of Foxtel and former director of several Telstra subsidiary companies. Mr Hanning was a partner at Clayton Utz, managing director at Morgan Stanley with senior management roles in Australia and Hong Kong, and a group managing director at UBS with management responsibility for Asia Pacific investment banking.
Gold developer West African Resources has appointed Matthew Wilcox as chief development officer, as the company moves into the development phase for its 90%-owned Sanbrado Gold Project in Burkina Faso. Mr Wilcox is highly experienced in the gold mining construction industry in West Africa.
