What? ~ Summer Bees is a wholly online shop for authentic high-end Brazilian swimwear, tailored to all ages, shapes and sizes, and was launched in Perth in January 2016.

Who? ~ Originally from the beach capital of Brazil, Rio de Janeiro, founder Ariadne Mattos arrived in Perth at the age of 19 to study a degree in commerce. Her love of the beach inspired her to create Summer Bees, with the purpose of making women feel happier, more relaxed and comfortable in their own skin. Ari also volunteers for a number of charities and community organisations, and donates part of Summer Bees’ profits to various charities.

Size of Market ~ Summer Bees currently sells in Australia as well as overseas, with focus on 20-45 year-old women who lead an active lifestyle. The company is also working in collaboration with marketing representatives in the US, which will be the target market from April to November. The focus is on the South Pacific and North American markets.
