The opening will coincide with the Margaret River Wine Festival, and with the cellar door being located in Yallingup, the winery will be in the thick of things.
Owner Darren Haunold enlisted interior designer Scott Wilson to help create a relaxed atmosphere that will make the most of views across Gunyulgup Valley, and an environment where visitors can enjoy the produce and surrounds.
The winery will have ploughman’s lunches and tasting plates on offer so visitors can sample local produce in the region.
It is expected Wills Domain will also release its semillon sauvignon blanc and chardonnay in time to celebrate the opening.
Fresh from international competition in Hong Kong, Manjimup winemaker Chestnut Grove has won another award, this time picking up gold and ‘top of class’ for its Estate Chardonnay at the Australian Boutique Wine Awards in Melbourne.
Returning from the awards, held two weeks ago, with a lot more than frequent flyer points was a boost for brand winemaker Mark Aitken.
“I am extremely pleased that the Estate Chardonnay has placed so well. Following a benchmark wine like the merlot was always going to be a great challenge. This is a tremendous result,” he says.
While footy fields across the country will still feature the famous CUB logo, the now Carlton United Beverages will move into new territory in Western Australia.
The company has shifted into wine production on a larger scale, having recently launched its Half Mile Creek brand, and has secured supplier agreements for a number of beverage types with key Western Australian venue, the Perth Convention Centre,
It is expected other supplier agreements in WA will follow.
After recently listing on London’s Alternative Investment Market, Palandri Wines group marketing manager Gabor Hernadi will share the company’s experience and successes in international markets at an event presented by the Australia Marketing Institute next week.
Mr Hernadi will speak about Palandri’s launch abroad and the challenges and rewards associated with the processes of product development, advertising, distribution and consumer research.
