Village for retired

A NEW $20 million retirement village is expected to meet the strong demand in the Claremont, Swanbourne and Cottesloe area from older retirees, according to the group behind the venture.

Built on the 6,000 square metre former old Swanbourne Hotel site, St Quentins will comprise 54 two and three-bedroom luxury apartments, starting at $320,000 each, arranged in three wings.

The complex will include a heated hydrotherapy pool and a recreation building with residents’ lounge, library, games room and crafts area.

Other facilities include a medical consulting room and a hairdressing salon.

St Quentins has been designed by architects John Silbert & Associates and will be owned and operated by Sydney-based Arton Retirement Villages Pty Ltd.

Arton has more than 500 units under management around the country.

Arton spokesman Paul Vrisakis said the village had been designed in a Federation style sympathetic to the surrounding area.
