Richard Court to chair IOH

Former premier Richard Court will chair the Iron Ore Holdings board from next year, the company has announced today.

Mr Court, already a director of the company, will replace Mal Randall, who will remain with the company as a director.

IOH is majority owned (52 per cent) by Kerry Stokes' Seven Group Holdings, and Mr Court's appointment tightens the links between the Stokes and Court families.

Mr Court is already on the board of National Hire Group, which owns a 50 per cent share in Coates Hire and is majority owned by Mr Stokes' WesTrac.

The former Premier also is a trustee of the Channel 7 Telethon Trust, along with Mr Stokes' wife, Christine Simpson Stokes.

The former Premier is also a director of WesTrac, along with Mr Stokes' son Ryan.

Ryan Stokes has also been appointed to the board of IOH, adding to his responsibilities as chief executive of Australian Capital Equity and executive director of Seven Group Holdings.

He is also chairman of Vividwireless and a director of WesTrac, Seven Media Group, Consolidated Media Holdings and the Perth International Arts Festival.

In a raft of announced changes to the IOH board, chief executive Alwyn Vorster will also become managing director.
