A popular Leederville burger bar has beaten hamburger craftsmen and women from around the country to win the title of Australia's Best Hamburger in the nation's biggest people's choice food awards.

Jus' Burgers, of Newcastle Street in Leederville, is the brainchild of British-born chef, Justin Bell, and the worthy recipient in the hamburger category in the I Love Food Awards 2009.

The awards were announced today by XYZnetworks' LifeStyle Food Channel after receiving more than 100,000 votes across the 16 categories which also included Australia's favourite restaurant, favourite pie and favourite fish and chips.

Mr Bell is a professional chef of more than 20 years, with previous experience in opening restaurants including Monza in Leederville, Bunker Bay in Dunsborough, and even El Pamposo in Hong Kong.

The big winner was Zushi in Darlinghurst, New South Wales which was the overall national "I Love FOOD Awards" Favourite Restaurant, and it also won Favourite Asian Restaurant.
