Southern Cross Austereo has appointed Gina Hogan as general manager of its Perth operations. Now overseeing SCA’s Mix 94.5 and Hit 92.9 radio stations, previously Ms Hogan served as SCA’s general manager, Cairns and Tablelands. Linda Wayman resigned as general manager, Perth in March, after 15 years in the role.
Braemar Presbyterian Care has appointed Chris Frame brand and marketing consultant. Mr Frame recently worked as senior marketing manager, western operations for the Royal Flying Doctor service. Previously he was general manager, brand and marketing at Bethanie, after a prior role as digital producer at Marketforce. Mr Frame is also the author of a dozen maritime history books.
Anthony Kannis has been appointed project director of the McGowan government’s Metronet public transport project. Mr Kannis was previously executive director WA Police, a role in which he had served since May 2013. Prior to that, he spent nearly seven years as executive director of the Department of Treasury. In that role, he was a key member of a project steering committee that helped deliver the Mandurah rail line and the underground rail connection in the central business district. Mr Kannis was also a board member of Infrastructure Australia for six years from 2008.
HHG Legal Group managing director Simon Creek has been named as one of three winners of the Law Society of WA’s 2017 Lawyer of the Year award along with Nicholas van Hattem and Krista McMeeken. HHG has recently expanded with the addition of Oscar Dell’Anna, Alison Kish, Rebekah Little, and James Tadros as solicitors, and Emma Armistead as a law graduate.
Andrew Beech has been appointed a judge of the Court of Appeal. His appointment follows David Newnes' resignation in April. Justice Beech has sat as a judge of the Supreme Court since 2007, when he was appointed following 22 years as a solicitor and barrister. Filling the gap created by Justice Newnes' departure and Justice Beech’s promotion, Gail Archer has been appointed a judge of the Supreme Court. Justice Archer was previously a member of Francis Burt Chambers and was appointed a senior counsel in 2007. She was acting commissioner of the Corruption and Crime Commission from 2008 to 2011.
Simon Bennison has announced he will retire as chief executive of the Association of Mining and Exploration companies in August. Mr Bennison has served in the role for the past nine years. He was previously chief executive of the National Aquaculture Council.
