UP TO recent times Van Eyk, Assirt and Morning Star have dominated the research provider market.
These companies have provided investment advisers and financial professionals with the research to assess investment and managed funds.
Now a new player InvestorWeb has launched its service to provide reviews on both managed funds and direct equities to the advisory market.
The company aims to cover a number of financial service areas and will dispense research via an advisor-designed website, InvestorWeb Professional.
InvestorWeb has assembled a team of four managed fund analysts, four equity analysts and five journalists to provide a web-based platform to deliver the research content to clients.
It’s first Research View on the joint venture between AXA and Alliance raised some concerns as to the structure of the joint venture.
This was quite a contrary view to that of Morning Star who dubbed the merger as a “significant positive”. So far, InvestorWeb has undertaken the right approach and is sending the right signals. The competitive nature of that industry will see some response from the competition.
The key to InvestorWeb’s success will ultimately hinge on how well they cater to advisers and planners.
