What is your favourite holiday destination?

My favourite holiday destination is Broome, and in particular, Cable Beach Club Resort. We love Broome because it is only a short flight, you start relaxing five minutes after you arrive, the weather is always perfect and the friendly staff and facilities at Cable Beach Club are world-class.

What is your favourite place in WA to take a short break?

Fighting Broome for top spot is Rottnest Island. The fact that the pristine waters and unique holiday experience are only 30 minutes away makes Rottnest difficult to beat for a short break.

Where's the best place in Perth to take out-of-towners?

You can't beat Perugino's for food to impress or Coco's if you want the total package including food, view and atmosphere.

If they have a bit longer, a day on the boat sitting in one of the bays at Rottnest always creates an unforgettable day.

What has been your biggest travel disaster?

Breaking down on our very first family boating trip to Rottnest and having to be towed home.

What is your pet hate when travelling on airplanes?

Delayed flights and disappearing cabin crew.

How often do you travel? Is it usually for business or pleasure?

I travel every few months or so and usually for business.

What's always in your carry-on luggage?

The most important in my carry-on luggage is an iPod and noise-reduction headphones.

Where have you always wanted to travel/holiday but haven't managed to yet?

I have always wanted to holiday in Greece but just haven't got there yet.

What is your favourite overseas restaurant?

I recently enjoyed a most spectacular lunch at a restaurant called La Colombe d'Or, which is about 40 minutes out of Cannes in France. This restaurant is famous not only for its food, but for the priceless artworks of Picasso, Matisse and Leger that hang on its walls!

You wish Perth could be more like...

Perth is, in my view, already the best city in the world in which to live. I admire the way that Victorians embraced leaders who had a vision for change and development that transformed Melbourne into the exciting city it is today, and while I do not want to change Perth into Melbourne, I wish we could be more supportive of leaders with the vision to develop Perth with a view to the needs of future generations.

You hope Perth always retains...

I hope Perth always retains its friendly atmosphere, its clear blue skies, sparkling clean waterways and great restaurants.
