FORMER Labor party state secretary John Halden is set to head up the new Perth office of national public relations group CPR Communications and Public Relations.
Adam Kilgour, managing director CPR Communications and Public Relations, said a number of national clients in banking, construction and finance in Perth had prompted the decision to set up the new office.
“We had existing client needs with some clients and we had to find someone. A couple of the directors knew of John in the course of doing work. John struck us as a stand-out candidate, he’s just run one of the most successful campaigns for the Gallop government,” Mr Kilgour said.
“All state governments are facing major challenges, I think the WA economy is as buoyant as any other.”
CPR has experience across all three levels of government and despite the individual political preferences of staff as a group it has no political alliance.
“Some people who work with us have political preferences but Australia is too small to nail your colours to the mast,” Mr Kilgour said.
