Carl and Jackie Lancaster have sold their café, situated in the foyer of the Allendale Square building, to one of its long-serving employees, Mario Lucia.
Mr Lucia and his wife, Melanie Cargill, took over the business on May 1 and have increased the focus on food while continuing to serve quality coffee and teas to busy terrace-based workers.
Mr Lucia has been working in the cafe since it opened in late 2004 and took the opportunity to buy the business with his wife after the Lancasters decided to sell.
Ms Cargill says the pair have increased the cafe’s food focus, which includes a catering service for CBD offices.

Organic food continues to grow in popularity and the team from one of Perth’s not-for-profit organic community gardens, City Farm, are hoping to sort myths from facts at a cooking workshop being hosted by catering group, Comestibles.
City Farm operates an organic community garden and network centre in East Perth that operates an organic growers market on Saturday mornings.
The Comestibles team reckons workshop participants will leave wiser about nutrition and what they put into their bodies. The organic cooking workshop takes place on Monday July 2.
