Chris Paull has been recruited by accountancy firm BDO as tax partner, joining its Perth office. Mr Paull has nearly two decades of experience advising clients on a variety of areas including transactions, internal restructures, financing matters, tax compliance and tax risk management. Prior to this appointment, Mr Paull led an 18-year career at PwC. He also sits on the Homeless Healthcare board as treasurer.
A leadership shift has taken place at Capital Partners Private Wealth Advisers, as David Andrew resigns as managing director after 25 years of service and chief operating officer Charmaine Lamprecht steps up into the role. Mr Andrew led the company’s growth to its current position as one of the largest independent wealth management firms in Australia with a workforce of 50 staff managing $2 billion in assets. Ms Lamprecht has worked as Capital Partners’ COO for 12 years.
RSPCA WA has added Purple (formerly Cannings Purple) director Jo Monery to its board as a non-executive director. Ms Monery has worked for the communications company since late 2021, adding to her career of more than 20 years. Prior to joining Purple, Ms Monery was based in London and spent more than eight years working senior leadership roles at a public relations firm, including as managing director corporate and technology.
Nicola Spicer has joined Currambine-based real estate agency RE/MAX Extreme as its newest sales agent. Ms Spicer has spent the past seven years travelling between Perth and Bali, Indonesia, where she owns and runs several accommodation properties. She started her career in the fashion industry, operating her own business and participating in well-known fashion events such as Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Australia and Miami Swim Week. Ms Spicer will be based at RE/MAX Extreme’s Cannington office for her new role.
Business Council of Australia has announced Woodside Energy chief executive Meg O'Neill as the newest addition to its board. Ms O'Neill started at Woodside in May 2018 as chief operations officer before elevating through several executive positions to eventually be appointed as chief executive and managing director in August 2021. Before joining Woodside, Ms O'Neill was vice president of Africa with ExxonMobil Development, vice president of Asia Pacific for ExxonMobil Production, managing director of ExxonMobil and Esso in Norway, and president of ExxonMobil Canada.
Tanya Rybarczyk has been named as the next president of explosives manufacturer Dyno Nobel Asia Pacific, effective February 2025. Ms Rybarczyk has worked at Wesfarmers for nearly two decades, holding a range of positions across business development, private equity and investor relations. She is currently the general manager of Kleenheat, a role she commenced in mid-2021 after three years as CSBP Fertilisers general manager. Before this, Ms Rybarczyk was Wesfarmers Chemicals, Energy & Fertilisers chief financial officer for eight years.
Respected researcher Bep Uink has been named director of Edith Cowan University-based HealthInfoNet, which provides accessible, evidence-based resources on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Health. A Noongar woman from Perth, Professor Uink is the first Aboriginal director and first female to hold the role in the organisation’s history. She joined ECU from Murdoch University, where she was dean of Indigenous knowledges. Professor Uink is a post-doctoral fellow and senior research fellow at Murdoch University’s Kulbardi Aboriginal Centre.
