Shannon O'Rourke will lead the Future Battery Industries Cooperative Research Centre as the organisation’s chief executive. Mr O’Rourke joins the centre with 25 years’ experience in the energy sector, the past 14 at Woodside Petroleum. His most recent role at the oil and gas company was as general manager, new energy.
Agribusiness Alterra has hired Ben Norrish as head of horticulture to oversee the development of the company’s avocado project. Mr Norrish is currently the general manager of Jasper Farms, one of the state’s largest avocado producers. He has worked at the company since 2013 and became general manager in 2018. He will start his new role with Alterra in the second quarter of 2022.
Andy Weir is joining ABN Group’s advisory board. Mr Weir has worked as CommBank’s executive general manager of Bankwest technology and chief information officer. Since leaving the bank last year, he founded TranXform Consulting.
Focus Minerals has appointed Rodney Johns as chief operating officer to steer the development of the company’s Coolgardie and Laverton gold projects. Mr Johns has experience in the Western Australian gold sector, having held senior positions at Delta Gold, Placer Dome, La Mancha Resources and Eco Resources.
Warrick Clent will be the chief operating officer at Raiden Resources. Mr Clent is a geologist with more than 25 years’ experience working in Australia, Papua New Guinea and Indonesia. Most recently, he has consulted as a director for Clent Advisory. Over his career, he has worked for companies including Geopacific Resources, Goldminex Resources and Robust Resources.
Decmil Group has made Alan Ings chief financial officer. Mr Ings was the chief financial officer at privately-owned civil and concrete construction company Whittens for seven years, before leaving in February 2020 and working as chief financial officer at ASX-listed Babylon Pump & Power. He has also served as commercial manager for Macmahon.
Michael Shanahan has joined the retail leasing team at Lease Equity. Mr Shanahan has previously worked as national leasing manager at Primewest, a senior leasing executive at Charter Hall and state leasing manager WA at Federation Centres.
