Sharyn O'Neill has been re-appointed as the state government Public Sector Commissioner for a second five-year term. She was first appointed to the role in July 2018 and has worked to implement a reform agenda to ensure the sustainability of the public sector into the future. Prior to becoming commissioner, Ms O'Neill worked as the Department of Education director general for 12 years.
Emeco Holdings chief financial officer Thao Pham will step down from her current role in May before resigning in the first quarter of FY24. Ms Pham first joined the ASX-listed mining company in 2011 as legal counsel and has moved between several roles since then. Theresa Mlikota has been appointed to the chief financial officer role, effective May 8. Ms Mlikota has worked as chief financial officer at Adbri, Perenti, Thiess, Macmahon and Barminco.
Cecile Wake has been announced as Shell Australia chair, officially succeeding Tony Nunan from May 22. Ms Wake has worked at Shell's joint venture Arrow Energy as its chief executive since 2020 and prior to this, she worked in senior commercial leadership roles at Shell and at the BG Group. Mr Nunan will remain at Shell and filling a newly created role as chief of staff and corporate relations.
PICA general manager Georgia Malone has resigned to take up a new senior role in the arts and culture team at Minderoo Foundation, effective May 8. Ms Malone had worked as PICA general manager since July 2021 and stepped up as acting director from August to December last year. She has also worked as GM Consulting director since she founded the consulting company in 2016.
Perth-based Community Arts Network has appointed Danielle Antaki as its new chief executive. Ms Antaki is set to take over from interim chief executive Monica Kane who has temporarily held the role for six months. Prior to this appointment, Ms Antaki worked as Constable Care Foundation arts and education manager for ten years. She also worked as chief executive and artistic director for Powerhouse Youth Theatre in Sydney.
WA film festival organisation CinefestOZ continues it search for a new chief executive following the announcement of Malinda Nixon’s resignation in February. Ms Nixon will stay on as chief executive until May 5. She first joined CinefestOZ in 2009 as festival manager and shortly after, was appointed to the helm of the organisation.
Luke Bortoli has been recruited as Pilbara Minerals’ new chief financial officer, effective April 11. Mr Bortoli has more than 20 years’ experience in finance. He was previously Afterpay Limited’s chief financial officer for three years and before this, he worked as the chief financial officer for special projects at Sydney-based Aristocrat Gaming. At Pilbara Minerals, Mr Bortoli will have oversight of all financial aspects and will work as part of the executive team to implement and accelerate the company’s growth strategy.
