After an international search, Sharon Burgess has been appointed chief executive of ARTRAGE, the company who organises Fringe World Festival. Ms Burgess is a board member of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe Society and has worked for venue producers at the festival for the past decade including Assembly as general manager, and business development and general manager at The Gilded Balloon.
Mark Palermo has become partner at international law firm Squire Patton Boggs. Mr Palermo has been with the firm for the last ten years and specialises in commercial property law. He works with clients such as Brookfield, Far East Consortium and the Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority.
Mark Treasure will be the State Sales Director of oOh!media’s new WA office. Mr Treasure was previously director of oOh!’s state offering at Media Tonic for the past eight years. The new oOh! Office will include the existing Commute team from WA and former Media Tonic employees who previously represented the oOh! business.
Alistair Sullivan has joined Subiaco law firm Pragma. Mr Sullivan was admitted to the Supreme Court of Western Australia as a lawyer in 2015 and has since worked nationally and internationally for leading transport and logistics insurers and major commercial law and maritime and transport firms in Sydney and London.
Outgoing Perth Festival artistic director Wendy Martin and ECU associate professor Justin Brown have joined DADAA’s board. Jan Court is leaving the position of chair after 10 years in the role and will be replaced by the board treasurer Harry Bray. Mr Bray said Martin and Brown bring expertise in key areas relevant to DADAA’s business growth.
Charlies Foundation for Research executive director Vicki Rasmussen has been appointed as a director of the Fundraising Institute Australia board. Ms Rasmussen has replaced Allan Godfrey who has completed three terms of service. She has over 20 years’ experience in the not for profit sector in Western Australia.
HHG Legal Group has appointed Dianne Caruso as senior associate in the family law team at HHG Legal Group. Ms Caruso has two years’ experience in the Family Court of Western Australia and worked at Kim Wilson & Co Family Layers for the past six years where she handled property settlements, parenting matters, divorce, spousal maintenance, child support and financial agreements.
The Lighting Council Australia board has appointed Dialight Asia Pacific managing director Malcolm Lee to its board. Mr Lee is the only Western Australian to ever be appointed to the position. He is already an active member of the council and offers market intelligence and advocates on behalf of the industry and in his new role, he will provide an international focus on industrial lighting.
