Power Ledger co-founder Jemma Green will assume the role of executive chairman at the company after a period of maternity leave. The appointment follows the planned transition of David Martin to a non-executive director role within the company. As executive chair, Dr Green will oversee Power Ledger's day-to-day management. Dr Green co-founded the blockchain-enabled renewable energy trading platform in 2016.
The McIntosh Group has appointed David Capper as chief executive of McIntosh & Son and McIntosh Distribution. Mr Capper has held executive leadership positions in agribusiness, the food processing sector and supply chain and logistics. He most recently worked at BCH, where he held positions including strategy manager, operations manager and general manager.
The Association of Australian Medical Research Institutes has announced Jonathan Carapetis as president elect. Professor Carapetis is a paediatrician, infectious diseases specialist, and Telethon Kids Institute director. He will be the first AAMRI president to be based in Western Australia. Professor Carapetis is replacing Vlado Perkovic, who has been appointed Dean of Medicine at the UNSW Sydney.
Steph Marsh has been appointed as the Consumer Protection senior regional officer for the Great Southern. Ms Marsh has worked in Albany for the past eight years at the Department of Communities supporting children and families. She is replacing outgoing senior regional officer Iris Thomas, who held the role for 17 years.
The Australian Centre for Geomechanics at The University of Western Australia has appointed Johan Wesseloo as director. Dr Wesseloo joined the centre in 2007 and has led the centre’s premier research project on mine seismicity and rockburst risk management. Before joining ACG, he worked at SKR Consulting in Johannesburg. Dr Wesseloo is replacing outgoing director Yves Potvin, who had held the position since 2000.
Stuart Bell has been promoted to regional manager for Western Australia of property and infrastructure services consultancy APP, effective June 1. Mr Bell is currently manager of APP’s project management business in WA. In his 20-year career, Mr Bell has worked in consulting and in client-side roles with CBRE and Westpac.
Squire Patton Boggs has announced Michael Swift has joined the partnership in the firm’s real estate practice. Mr Swift previously worked at Allion Partners, where he was partner in charge as well as head of the property and agribusiness teams. His experience includes property and project transactions, strata title unit developments, joint ventures aviation and airport development, large scale acquisitions and disposals and agribusiness.
