Greg Brylski has been appointed as Mount Hospital general manager in an announcement made by the private hospital’s operator Healthscope. In this new role, Mr Brylski is set to oversee the hospital’s refurbishment project, valued at more than $35 million, which is currently underway after delays. Mr Brylski has relocated to Perth from New South Wales to fill the position at Mount Hospital, bringing his extensive healthcare sector experience. Prior to this appointment, Mr Brylski served an eight-year tenure as general manager at Riverina Hospital in Wagga Wagga. He is currently completing a PhD.
Velrada chief operating officer Tom Fuller has been promoted to the role of executive general manager following the IT company’s integration into its proprietor Nomura Research Institute (NRI) Australia & New Zealand on July 1. Mr Fuller will continue to oversee Velrada business operations in this position. He first joined the Perth-based company in mid-2017 as delivery director, according to LinkedIn. Mr Fuller previously completed a stint as Velrada executive director from 2011 to 2016.
WA Insolvency Solutions has promoted Greg Prout to partner after nearly 21 years working at the company. The firm is a division of national Jirsch Sutherland and specialises in business recovery, corporate insolvency and personal insolvency in Western Australia. Mr Prout joined WA Insolvency Solutions as a graduate in 2002 after completing his commerce degree and holds dual qualifications as a registered liquidator and bankruptcy trustee. He has experience working on corporate and personal insolvency across Perth, Kalgoorlie, Esperance, Albany and Broome.
Aged care provider Bethanie appointed Celia Hammond to the organisation's board in May. Ms Hammond has more than 30 years' experience in law and currently works at Core Law & Advisory as principal. She additionally serves as a trustee of St John of God Health Care and the director of Catholic Education Western Australia. From 2019 to 2022, Ms Hammond was a member of the Liberal Party, representing the Division of Curtin in WA in the House of Representatives.
Jess Hamdorf has been promoted from senior associate to director at Glen McLeod Legal. Ms Hamdorf first joined the law firm in 2014 and specialises in environment, planning and public law. Ms Hamdorf was the National Environmental Law Association president for more than two years before stepping down to serve as a board member in 2019, a role she continues to hold.
Former WA treasurer Ben Wyatt has become an adviser to Australian Capital Equity, adding to the network of powerful individuals close to its chair Kerry Stokes. Mr Wyatt recently commenced as a member of the advisory committee of Australian Capital Equity, which is the central company in Mr Stokes’ vast business empire. It brings to nine the number of roles held by Mr Wyatt, who is also a director of Rio Tinto and Woodside Energy.
JLL head of capital markets John Williams has quit the firm to start his own consultancy later this year, after close to three decades at the company. Mr Williams stepped into the capital markets role at the start of 2022, after a 10-year stint as JLL’s managing director in WA. Mr Williams joined JLL in 1995, after working for seven years in London for real estate consultancy Richard Main & Co. Coincidentally, the London firm was taken over by JLL years after Mr Williams departed. His new firm, where he will be a solo practitioner, will be called Williams Property Advisory.
Perth Airport has undergone two recent changes to its board, with Ankit Mehta replacing Steven Fitzgerald as a representative for Utilities Trust of Australia in June, and Gillian Denison replacing Wendy Norris as a representative for Future Fund in May. Mr Fitzgerald will remain on the board as a non-executive director.
