Joanne Farrell has been appointed chair of Safe Work Australia, replacing Diane Smith-Gander. Ms Farrell retired in 2020 as vice president organisation resources for Rio Tinto’s iron ore group of companies. She worked at the iron ore miner for 32 years in various roles in human resources, health, safety and environment, and government and stakeholder relations.
Clough has promoted Jillian Formentin as engineering director for the APAC region. Ms Formentin joined Clough in July last year as business development manager. A chartered mechanical engineer, she has worked in the engineering and construction industry across the resources and oil and gas markets including at Origin Energy, McConnell Dowell and the Department of Mines Industry Regulation and Safety.
Peter Thomas is joining Lifeline WA’s board as chair. Mr Thomas is a board director and consultant with executive experience in finance, mining and construction. He has held chief executive and senior executive positions at Todd Corporation, Fortescue and Novartis, and is a director of ASX listed construction and engineering group Decmil.
Knight Frank Australia has hired Ben Younger as director, investment sales. Mr Younger has more than 24 years’ experience in sales, including 16 years at CBRE Asia Pacific. He most recently worked as a developer with Collab Capital.
