Agency in the black

LANDCORP, the government’s land development agency, made a after tax profit of $13.1 million for the first six months of the current financial year – almost double its target of $6.6 million.

Lands Minister Doug Shave said LandCorp was on track to deliver tax and dividends of $60 million to the Government for the full 1999-2000 year.

He said LandCorp profits were used to help fund other areas of government and the Government’s involvement in land and infrastructure projects made an important contribution to the State’s economy.

During the past year, several opportunities had been identified or secured to meet the increasing demand for industrial land in Perth and regional areas.
