Raymond Macdonald is an experienced executive in the renewable energy sector. He has over 30 years of involvement in general management, project delivery, and operations management across multiple industries including renewable energy, oil & gas, marine, mining, and secondary industries in leading global companies.
Mr Macdonald is a director of project developer and investor Intercontinental Energy; and chief executive of WGEH, the company behind the Western Green Energy Hub, which is backed by Intercontinental. Prior to that, he was a project director of GE Renewable Energy for major EPC projects in Australia, managing director of Vestas Southern Africa, vice president of Global Construction Vestas AS in Denmark, global director of project delivery & oversight for the Minerals Division of Kellogg Brown and Root, senior general manager for Siemen's EPC Division (South Africa) and head of major projects execution at Siemens Australia.
Mr Macdonald holds a Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the University of Johannesburg, an MBA from the University of Wales, a PhD in Project and Business Administration from Preston University, and has completed the Leading Economic Development Certificate from the Kennedy School at Harvard University.
