Phillip Della

Professor Phillip Della AM is the head of School of Nursing and Midwifery at Curtin University. Prof Della has experience in public administration in relation to health care, the provision of professional health care services, and the improvement of safety & quality. He was the chief nursing officer at the Department of Health (WA) for over 9 years, and deputy director of nursing at Royal Perth Hospital for a decade. His research areas include clinical communication, health service reform, safety & quality. In June 2019, Prof Della was awarded a Member of the Order of Australia for significant service to nursing, midwifery, and to health care education.
