Paula Lourie is a communications professional specialising in science, technology and innovation. She is passionate about science, communication and education, and has a mix of academic, commercial and non-profit experience.
As director of marketing & communications at Scitech, Western Australia’s internationally recognised science centre, Ms Lourie her team are responsible for positioning Scitech as a leader in STEM engagement. Her goal is to engage audiences in science, technology, engineering and maths through a strategic mix of marketing and communications that support the products, programs, projects and events undertaken by Scitech. Prior to that, Ms Lourie wrote and developed multimedia science content for Government funded science teaching resource projects in New Zealand and Australia. She also held management roles at Swiss Re Life & Health, Sydney where she developed skills in people management, financial management, leadership and creative problem solving.
While living in New Zealand, Ms Lourie ran a dry-stock (sheep and beef) farm with her husband, held leadership roles in a rural community kindergarten, was on the board of trustees at a local primary school, and started an online business.
She completed a Graduate Certificate in Strategic Communication from the University of WA.
