Mike Gillespie is the executive manager of IFAP’s Offshore and Maritime Training Centre, where he has worked for over 24 years and has a sound understanding of the daily operations of the business. He began his IFAP career as a trainer and safety diver, then eventually moving into a management role. During his time as manager, Mr Gillespie acquired a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and a Certificate IV in Business (Frontline Management). He is the Australian representative to the International Association of Safety and Survival Training (IASST), and is also a longstanding representative for IFAP to the Offshore Petroleum Industry’s Training Organisation (OPITO) Training Providers Advisory Group (TPAG) which is an industry body established to monitor and maintain training standards for the offshore oil & gas industry.
