Mahendra Pal

Mahendra Pal started his career in Australia with the exploration and mining of uranium with Queensland Mines, a subsidiary of Kathleen Investment. Mr Pal spent two periods working with Rio Tinto (erstwhile CRA), commencing in 1970, and was principal geologist for Hamersley Iron where he made several iron ore discoveries including concealed iron ore bodies at the Mount Tom Price and Paraburdoo mines, and also held senior management positions up until 1999. From 1980 to 1984, he worked for ESSO Australia as a senior professional geologist and exploration geologist for the Rundle Oil Shale Project feasibility study. At Shree Minerals, he identified the Direct Shipping Iron Ore (DSO) at the company's Nelson Bay River Prospect.
