
Dr Jennifer Purdie’s extensive career has seen her hold roles in engineering, senior technology, strategy and operations for leading international mining companies. Prior to becoming chief executive of Adani, Dr Purdie was the executive vice president of Aurizon, global practice leader of Rio Tinto’s Technology and Innovation team (leading a global network of in‐house technologists and suppliers to deploy innovative technologies across Rio Tinto operations), and she filled engineering roles with Rio Tinto, Alcoa and Altona Petrochemical. Dr Purdie held several senior management and operational roles, and has been deeply immersed in technology development. She has a PhD and Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical and Materials, Hons 1) from Auckland University and an
Executive MBA from the University of Queensland. She is a committee member of Women in Mining and Resources Queensland, a fellow of the Institution of Chemical Engineers, and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
