Gwyn Dolphin
Gwyn Dolphin began his career with Tourism WA in 2012 as executive director of events. Mr Dolphin was also acting executive director in Tourism WA’s markets and partnerships area, overseeing all international and domestic activities. He had been leading Tourism WA as acting chief executive while an international search was undertaken. He became the permanent CEO in December 2016. In his roles at Tourism WA, Mr Dolphin oversaw the establishment of the Margaret River Gourmet Escape as a key visitation event for Western Australia, and the relocation of the Hopman Cup into Perth Arena. He also developed the plan of major events for Perth Stadium, which has recently led to the announcements of State of Origin and Bledisloe Cup matches being held in WA. Prior to joining Tourism WA, Mr Dolphin was group marketing director at Cardiff’s Millennium Stadium/Welsh Rugby Union, and was managing partner in the WPP global marketing network, covering specialised areas in marketing, sponsorship and media, and leading international teams for Vodafone and Ford.
