Frank Eagar is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years of corporate, commercial and technical experience in the financing, permitting, development and operation of mining projects, with a strong focus in southern Africa.
Mr Eagar is based in Malawi and has been the general manager of Africa for Sovereign Metals since December 2022 before becoming its managing director and chief executive in October 2023. Prior to that, he had held several senior executive positions within the resources sector including with African mining-focused private equity firm AMED Funds where he acted as chief financial officer of its controlled company, Central Copper Resources. He was also the chief financial officer and chief executive of Baobab Steel, another AMED controlled company, where he managed the completion of a Definitive Feasibility Study and a joint venture with the World Bank’s IFC to procure strategic investors and raise project finance for its steel and vanadium project in Mozambique.
