Gold explorer Godolphin Resources and its joint venture partner Orange Minerals have announced a maiden ore resource for the Calarie project in central New South Wales. The maiden resource contains 870,000 tonnes of mineralisation, with some 50,796 ounces of gold at an average grade of 1.83 grams per tonne and a cut-off grade of 0.3 g/t.

Fresh assays from phase two diamond drilling at Godolphin Resources and joint venture partner Orange Minerals' Calarie gold project in New South Wales have validated a suite of compelling hits from a historical probe. The feature strike from the five-hole, 1170m program was a 2.4m intersection at 15.69 grams per tonne gold from 45m, inside of a larger 10.6 section grading 5.63 g/t from 39m.

A five-hole diamond drilling program to test an inflexion zone beneath historical gold mine workings has begun at the Calarie gold project, a joint venture in NSW between Godolphin Resources and Orange Minerals. The phase 2 program, with a minimum of 1000m of drilling, is the follow-up to what Orange describes as “outstanding” results from phase 1 of the campaign conducted late last year.

Godolphin Resources' JV partner, Orange Minerals is poised to fire up the diamond drill rig for 1200m of exploration at its Calarie gold project in the Lachlan Fold Belt of NSW after finalising plans for a phase 2 probe. The campaign follows a December RC campaign that delivered a suite of “outstanding” intercepts, including 1m at 48.77 grams per tonne gold from 42m.

Godolphin Resources has struck multiple mineralised copper veins with its first hole in search of a large porphyry copper-gold system in NSW. The explorer kicked off a two-hole diamond-drill program at its Yeoval porphyry copper-gold project on April 4 and now is shooting for possible extensions to the south of its current resource hoping its second hole will make it two from two.

On the back of high-grade tidings from its joint venture project, the drill bit is now spinning for Godolphin Resources at its Yeoval porphyry copper-gold project in NSW. The company says the 900m program will feature two diamond drill holes and will aim for southern extensions to its current resource, in addition to identifying further mineralisation at the Cyclops prospect.

Godolphin Resources has entered into a binding term sheet with ASX-listed Orange Minerals to offload its Ophir and Wiseman's Creek projects in New South Wales for a total consideration of $550,000. The projects are prospective for gold and base metals and according to the company, the sale will provide a cash injection that will be funnelled to its nearby Narraburra rare earths project.

Gold and base metals aspirant Orange Minerals made a subdued ASX debut, closing its first trading day up half a cent on its 20 cent IPO price.
