Djinda Boodja (formerly Abmusic) is an Aboriginal corporation formed in 1986 to support and nurture Aboriginal musicians in Western Australia. It is Australia’s last remaining Aboriginal Music Corporation.
Djinda Boodja has grown and is now a Registered Training Organisation delivering Certificates 1 through 4 from the Music Industry Training Package in a program especially tailored for Australian Indigenous people. Some of those include:
- Leadership 1 Music
- Leadership 2 Music
- Certificate 3 in Electronic Music Production
Djinda Boodja has also broadened its scope to include:
- Leadership 1 Beauty
- Leadership 2 Beauty
- Certificate 2 in Retail Cosmetics
In July 2021, Djinda Boodja (Noongar for Star Country) became the new name for the arts and culture organisation formerly known as Abmusic. It opened a new art centre on July 6.
