Perth Airport awards $1bn contract
Perth Airport has awarded the $1 billion contract for construction of its new runway to a joint venture between BMD Group and CPB Contractors.
Works for the new three kilometre long, 45 metre wide runway will include the demolition of existing infrastructure, new perimeter fencing, pavement, lighting and communication systems; and is expected to take three years to complete.
Perth Airport chief executive Jason Waters said by 2046 the airport was expected to cater to over 30 million passengers annually.
