Neil Hancock founded Portacom in his family garage in 1984 while just 21 years of age. At the time he was still at university and managed to obtain an over-draft and secure multi-national dealership support while completing a Diploma in Digital Systems and Computing. Portacom soon outgrew his parents’ garage and it is now one of the State’s leading portable computing and communications businesses. Mr Hancock has been responsible for several technological innovations, including an interface board and an internal touch mouse device for notebook computers.
