PLANS to develop a children’s pathway through Perth may have hit a stumbling block.
Council has indicated it supports the project designed to create a systems of pathways through the CBD to “highlight key features of the city and give children the opportunity to learn about and orient themselves in their capital city”.
However, several councillors are concerned about the ‘little people’ markers proposed for use at four sites along the pathway. Councillor Tess Stroud claimed the proposed statues would frighten children, rather than encourage them to use the paths.
To date, council has only been given one option for the statues but councillors would like more choice.
